Pinky

I couldnt believe a 5 year old girl could be so indifferent.Pinky joined the class almost in the middle of a semester with her sister Rinky. Dont be surprised, Pinky was not my classmate in college. We used to take classes for the workers and their kids to teach them language adn mathematics. Their classes were also scheduled according to our semester.

The first day she was a little reluctant to talk to anyone which we considered normal. We saw her bubbling with energy the very next class.A few days went on without much trouble. Her teacher(my classmate) who taught her couldnt come for one day. Another person tried to engage her, but in vain. She didn't utter a word for the whole one hour. We all tried our best to make her happy, the only achievement for us is that we made her smile at the end.

Days went off.She looks very serious some days when she would not speak, the other days she was a cheerful little girl.We came to know from her sister that there are some problems in her family. A 3 year old couldnt tell much about it.

After 2 days the most unexpected incident happened.Even after the class was ended she did not show any sign to leave.When I asked she said she is going to stay back. Her sister didn't show any reaction,she just gave a smile and walked away with the rest. We switched off the lights in the room to scare her so that she would go home.But that didn't work. We tried to take her forcily which made her cry louder. We offered her chocolates, cake and all what we could.Still no effect! Later we left her alone and went away.This scared her and she peeped out of the room. She walked slowly towards her house. We followed her without her knowing it. We made sure that she reached home safely and came back.

She was absent for the next class. We went to her house, but they had already shifted to another place.

Thats how GEMS proves its strength rather being so small! Dont be surprised, its the same Cadbury GEMS!!!
It was the night before MIS exam - 10.00 pm. Thats when we were free after chatting and watching movies. We decided to do a combined study so that the portions are over soon.The first step in the whole process was to search for eatables which give energy to study! The search ended with no results!!!

There came the angel with "GEMS". She had two packets of it and offered one to us for no reason. We were more than happy. Now the incentive is ready. Within no time we resumed the process. We started in a mutual understanding - Study different portions and at the end of each section, exchange the knowledge gained. This way the effort we need to take is halved. The incentive is "one GEMS for completing one page".
The first page was over, two GEMS too. We finished a section each so as the information exchange. We felt proud and ate 3 extra GEMS which was against the rule! Never mind, we finished one section of a chapter, actually two(with the combined effort).

Time is 10.45 now. I was the first to declare - "I'm sleepy, I'm going to sleep for 10 minutes. Wake me up exactly at 10.55". I got up exactly in time, just to eat 2 more GEMS. That was an inspiration for my friend to eat GEMS and sleep.Unlike me, she didn't get up even after half an hour. This tempted me and that was the end of the whole learning session.We got up just to realise its 6.30 in the morning. "Big time tragedy" :(

We just turned the thick red book. The portions we read could be compared to a drop of water in an ocean.We didn't know what to do! The only solution we could find is to say loudly "GEMS is the secret of our energy" remembering the momentary happiness it gave us the previous night and with lots and lots of prayers to the Almighty to save us from a bigger tragey!

ഇതു വരെ ബ്ലോഗ് ചെയ്യുന്നതില്‍ എനിക്ക് ഒരു താത്പര്യവും ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു.എന്നാല്‍ ഇന്നു എവിടെ നിന്നോ ആ interest എന്നെ തേടി വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. ഒരു പക്ഷെ ഇതോടെ ആ താത്പര്യം പോയെന്നും വരാം. എന്തായാലും കാത്തിരുന്നു കാണാം!!!
